Polish Luxury Vodka

This year's Academy Awards gift bags will include Polish Luxury Vodka Gift Sets. Hand-cast iron scrollwork embraces connoisseur-size bottles of Belvedere and Chopin Polish Luxury Vodka. The Polish Luxury Vodka Gift Set is a limited release item. The original molds will be destroyed, and this item will never again be produced.

Ever wonder what goes into those mysterious gift bags handed out at the Academy Awards on March 24? One might think of luxury goods to pamper Hollywood's "A" list nominees and presenters. Indeed, this year's 150 recipients of the coveted grab bags will enjoy the gift of luxury vodka in a limited release Polish Luxury Vodka Gift Set, containing connoisseur-size bottles of Belvedere and Chopin Vodkas.

As Best Actress nominees such as Nicole Kidman and Renee Zellweger reach into their gift bags and examine the handcrafted collectible art piece, they might notice the iron filigree work reminiscent of 18th Century Polish ironwork, which embraces the limited-edition bottles. And when it comes time to sample the Polish Luxury Vodkas, the Hollywood glitterati can try both Belvedere, with its faint vanilla nose, slight taste of rye and creamy sensation on the palate and Chopin, crafted from Stobrawa potatoes and characterized by a hint of apple in the nose and a clean European finish.

If you're not lucky enough to be a nominee or presenter at the Oscars, you can still enjoy Polish Luxury Vodka during your own Oscar celebration. The Belvedere Golden Martini, a sparkling, golden martini that debuted at this year's Grammy Awards, is the perfect drink to enjoy during a glamorous awards ceremony.

To make the Belvedere Golden Martini, shake 1.5 oz. Belvedere, 1/8 oz. Galliano and 1/8 oz. Grand Marnier with ice. Strain into a martini glass. Top with 2 oz. Moet and Chandon White Star champagne. Garnish with a twist of orange.

In the world of fine spirits and wines, the classic premier brands often come from specific regions that reflect their authenticity and time-honored traditions. The finest malt scotches, for example, hail from the Highlands of Scotland. The Bordeaux region in France is home to several of the world's finest wines. The same is true of highly coveted Polish vodkas.

In the region of Mazovia, deep in the heartland of central Poland, Belvedere Polish Luxury Vodka is handcrafted following a tradition over 500-years-old. It is crafted slowly, in small batches, from 100 percent Polish rye, giving it a subtle sweetness and soft character that other grain vodkas cannot duplicate. A faint vanilla nose and a slight hint of rye characterize its taste profile. It has a creamy smooth finish. Master distillers can taste each of the 19 different characteristics that compose Belvedere. If a sampling reveals even the slightest imbalance, the batch is destroyed. Its name honors Poland's former presidential palace, the Belvedere House. Belvedere is offered in 50 ml, 375 ml, 750 ml and 1.75 liter bottles, and is available with luxurious gift packaging at purveyors of fine spirits nationwide.

From the village of Siedlce, 52 miles directly east of Warsaw, comes Chopin, which is named for Poland's favorite son composer Frederic Chopin. It also is crafted from a single ingredient -- Stobrawa potatoes that are cultivated and harvested by hand using only natural farming practices. Chopin's taste profile is characterized by a hint of apple in the nose, a round, full character and a bold, yet smooth and clean, classic European finish.
